Balochistan’s problem cannot be resolved by banning BLA
Banning an
organization that does not seek the government permission to operate
hardly affect its activities. such organizations do not maintain offices
with addresses and telephone numbers duly recorded in telephone
directories, nor do they keep bank accounts under their own names. The
measures are more likely to be employed, to harass political opponents
accused of being “associated” with the outfit. Editorials from four

Allied to the problem
At the end of a French delegation’s visit to Pakistan recently, the
Pakistan Foreign Office put out its usual statement. It referred to
Pakistan as an anchor of peace in the region and said that the leader of
the French delegation, former Premier Senator (Francois) Poncet, had
commended Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability. One does not
know if this is a reflection of Gaul indulgence, Pakistan’s continued
self-delusion or simply a Foreign Office sleight of hand. One thing it
definitely is, is being elastic with the truth.

Baloch crisis can plunge Pakistan into civil unrest
Balochistan has been described as a simmering cauldron on the verge of
spilling over its boiling contents, threatening to engulf Pakistan in a
civil unrest. Very different from the Taliban insurgency along the
mountainous and porous Pak-Afghan border, and the Shia-Sunni clashes that
erupts sporadically across Pakistani cities, the Baloch crisis is all
about the ethic rights and self-rule of the Baloch's, and the struggle
threatens to completely dwarf Pakistan’s other conflicts. New York Times
