JWP Nawab Bugti rejects Balochistan committee

Chief of Jamhori Watan Party (JWP) and nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has said that he was pessimistic on the constitution of 29-member parliamentary Committee to address and tackle the Balochistan situations properly.

While talking to journalists at Dera Bugti, he ruled out the possibility of result-oriented talks between government and nationalists if the government sticks to its stance on establishing cantonments in the province.

"If the government wants investment and progress of the area then UAE should be followed as role model," Bugti stressed.

Referring to numerous committees including Kashmir Committee, Water Distribution Committee and NFC award Committee, he said no committee in Pakistan ever resolved any issue.

The 29-member parliamentary Committee would not yield any positive results regarding settling the ongoing issues, he observed.

While coming hard on government for establishing committees, he underscored that if one has positive intention to resolve any issue, the job can be done with a team of just 4-5 members.

He said, "all provincial development project including Gwadar and other Mega Projects should be legislated in Balochistan Assembly."

Chief of Gwadar Port Authority should be taken from Balochistan, Nawab said and added that minimum 60 percent board of Director members of the Project should have the domicile of Balochistan. 1.10.04
