Baloch Voice Condemn the arrest of Baloch Tribesman Baloch Voice expresses its extreme concern over the assault and arrest of Marri Baloch Tribesman. So far it has been witnessed that more than 40 Marri Tribesman and many more Baloch and Pashtoon were brutally assaulted and arrested by Pakistan police and intelligence agencies on 11th of December 2001. Marri Tribesman were arrested from Marri settlement in Hazarganji area near Quetta. All the arrested were unlawfully detained from their homes, in the middle of the night. No explanation is given for their arrest. The law-forces are still continuing to arrest other Baloch people under false allegations. Baloch Voice claims that Baloch political activists face regular state aggression and harassment, in the forms of illegal imprisonment, torture, and even murderous attacks. People of Balochistan have been victims of state violence continuously since 1947. Baloch Voice strongly condemns these arrests and feels that this sort of action is carried out to harass the people of Balochistan, which will further destabilise political situation in the region. Baloch Voice believes that this sort of action is the proof of Pakistani State terrorism against Baloch and the people of the oppressed Nations. Baloch Voice appeals to Baloch’s, Sindhis and all human rights activists all over the world to protest against this aggression towards the people of Balochistan by writing to Pakistani authorities and international human rights groups. 11.12.01
