State conspiracy “Operation wipeout Baloch”
In a new wave of arrests of Baloch people and state propaganda against
Nawab Marri and his followers indicates to their evil intentions and the
beginning of the military operation against the Baloch nation.
Police claimed to have seized a huge arms cache and explosive material, rockets, and unearthed a private jail and torture cells and arrested 20 suspects
including 3 women in an operation in New Kahan (Marri camp) at the western bypass
in Quetta here on Sunday.
Police and other agencies with a force of 1500 men launched the operation early on Sunday in the
New Kahan and allegedly seized weapons, and unearthed a private jail and six torture cells.
The fact is that New Kahan has been raided and searched dozens of times since the murder of justice Nawas Marri and nothing was ever found but similar statements were made every time. While there are no jails or torture cells, the question if they say they uncovered such jails or cells who did they rescued from there? If there is no one then how do they know that any building is a jail or torture cell, these are the questions, which have to be asked?
In fact all such allegations are for character killing of Nawab Marri because he is struggle for Baloch rights and the right of self-determination for the Baloch Nation. Which seems to be a thorn in the eye of the Punjabi oligarchy and their touts.
Nawab Marri has always been very clear in his views and never compromised Baloch interests for any thing, he has been jailed several times during last 40 years and now also it seems the state is hatching a conspiracy against him. Nawab Marri is in frail health and needs specialized medical attention, from which he has been deprived and he is not allowed to travel abroad for treatment.
During the Sundays operation, the police arrested 20 or so innocent people including women, usually the arrested are taken to police stations, torture cells where they are severely tortured, kept hungry and deprived of sleep for long periods of time.
Several persons arrested in such raids have never returned and no one knows if they are alive or not, when asked the police or the authorities they flatly refuse that they never arrested such persons. Many arrested, when released are severely mentally and physically disabled. Women and children are continuously harassed, beaten during search operations and permanently live in fear.
DIG police Bhatti said the police had hoisted the national flag on the Marri fort in the camp and added that the operation would continue for the discovery of more weapons and ammunition, which might have been dumped there. Regarding the arrests, he said that the police had arrested 20 suspects and investigations are in progress.
It is very strange that the police declear that they have hoisted a paki flag in New Kahan. It seems like that they have just now conquered Balochistan that the state is hoisting its flag in New Kahan. This shows the mentality of the Punjabis how do they think and because the police has never hoisted state flags on houses or villages after raiding them.
Police terms raids and operations on Baloch people as “Operation cleanup” but it seems more and more like “Operation wipeout Baloch”
Meanwhile, chief of Jamhoori Wattan Party Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti has termed the police operation in Marri Camp "the beginning of the possible military operation against the Baloch nation".
The police arrested innocent and violated the sanctity of Chadar and Char Deewari. Bugti said in a press statement issued here on Sunday. Thousands of people were harassed during the operation, he added.
The JWP chief claimed that state violence continued against the Baloch people in different areas of Balochistan, including Jewani, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Damdani, Kohlu and Quetta. He condemned the government action and demanded halt to violation of the sanctity of houses. The government should not test the patience of the Baloch, he added.
Bugti termed it a joke that a house Baloch nationalist Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri’s house was torture cell. He said that it was part of the character assassination campaign, which the government had launched since long to malign him and other Baloch nationalist leaders.
“Every one, including the government, knows well that Nawab Marri resides at Arbab Karam Khan road in Quetta city and that he has no property in the
New Kahan,” Bugti said, adding that it was ridiculous to declare the house of a poor Baloch as torture cell of Nawab Marri. He urged the alliance of four Baloch nationalist parties, lawyers and human rights organisations to raise voice against what he termed “state terrorism”. Statement by Balochvoice.com 1.3.05 |
