In a statement in Dawn last week by Khaleeq Kiani the Government has clamed that it has had an agreement with the Baloch leaders. Let me clear one thing no Baloch Nationalist leader or a member of the public on his own has the right or will agree with the exploiters of our nation “The Punjabis authorities”.

If any agreement has to be done with anybody it has to be done in the inertest of the people of Balochistan and by the People of Balochistan, no one man has the authority to negotiate on behalf of all the people, and such a negotiation has to be an open one not behind close doors, every body has a right to know what is being decided about their future by their representatives.

Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri has fought all his life for the rights of Balochistan and the Baloch people. He is in jail today not because of some murder charges that has been forged upon him and his family. Nawab Marri, his family members and 100s of his followers have been jailed and tortured not because they were all involved in a murder, but because of their Nationalist views and for their struggle for equality and justice which is a major hurdle in the way of exploitation for the Punjabi authorities in Balochistan.

All the Marri tribesmen and other followers of Nawab Marri who have been arrested were never questioned about who killed Justice Nawas Marri, the interrogations were focused on what they had learned in Afghanistan, what training they got there and what ammunition they got from Afghanistan, this is the real reason for the arrest of Nawab Marri and his followers.

Today when Nawab Marri is in Jail and seriously sick, first he suffered from a kidney problem and he didn’t get any proper medication. He has an infection in his gums since last two months, and now his condition is very serious Nawab Marri hasn’t had any food from last two days, his gums are bleeding and puss is coming from them, the authorities are doing nothing to help, no proper treatment is being given to him, tell me one thing is gum infection so difficult to treat, or that is also a means of torture, believe me the Pakistani authorities might be successful in killing individuals but they will never be able to kill what Nawab Marri stands and stood for all his life.

The Punjabi Pakistani authorities always portray Nawab Marri as a Sardar who wants to keep his people backward and not allowing development in his area so he can maintain his authority in his area, let me clear thing if Nawab Marri wanted to exploit the natural recourses of his area he had all his life to do so, today we should be grateful to Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri for his farsightedness some 50 years ago in stopping the Punjabi Pakistan of exploring and exploiting Oil and other natural resources from his area, for which he has suffered all his life by the hands of the Punjabi Pakistan.

Today we have an example of the Sui gas in front of us, from which we can learn a lot. What benefit Balochistan has got from it, it is supporting all of Pakistan but Balochistan is deprived of it, and that will be the case of Oil or any other Natural recourse which is explored from our Motherland, if it is exploited without any proper agreements and by the consensus of the people of Balochistan.

Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri and Sardar Attaullah Mengal have and will always stand and fight for the rights of Baloch and the people of Balochistan, now they are not two individuals but an ideology, which many believe in and are willing to die for. Baloch and other smaller Nations are the masters of their own Land and have the right to decide what to do with their resources, we cannot be fooled by the Punjabi Pakistan offering us a few jobs or a few percent in return of what is rightfully ours, what guarantees can Punjabi Pakistan give us of it honoring an agreement if even the people of Balochistan do come to an agreement, when it cannot guarantee its own future.
