They attack us as
Baloch, so we should defend our selves as Baloch
Nawabzada
Balach Marri has said in a press statement that Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri
believes that the resources in Marri area belong to all Baloch people not
exclusively to the Marri.
He
said that Nawab had been advocating this concept since he started politics
for last six decades. When the Government started the construction of
Sibi-Rakni highway via Kahan, he opposed it maintaining that it is a move
to pave way for exploitation of the resources there by Punjab. The
Government would to establish its foothold in the area. MPA said that the
Government and some Baloch painted the view point of Nawab Marri based on
personal interests and he wanted to keep Marri backward, illiterate and
uneducated for minting his chieftain ship and supremacy.
But the Government’s present steps in the in the
name of development like Gwadar Project, Kachi Canal, Sui Gas and many
other mega projects has proven that these mega projects are not for the
interests and development of Baloch people but they are meant to satisfy
the unlimited covetousness and greed and to strengthen the rule of Punjabi
rulers in Balochistan and driving Baloch people even more in the darkness
and backwardness.
In
the light of these circumstances and events Nawab Marri’s stand has not
only been proven correct but also, now nobody will face any difficulty in
understanding it.
As
it is crystal clear to everyone that Nawab Marri maintains that the Baloch
resources are for the Baloch people and it is incumbent on every Baloch to
defend them, Nawabzada Marri continued.
He
said that we realize that Baloch are one nation. As a nation they have
common interests and common enemies. Their ills and profits are common.
The MPA further said that Baloch would develop and become prosperous only
when they are masters of their own destination and they will be able to
take their own decision and make plans according to their needs and
requirements.
The
occupying forces play fraud on us and under the pretext of development
they serve their own interests by following their own designs. Nawab Marri
and his supporters always consider all Baloch as their brethren and share
their joys and sorrows, whether these issues pertain to Gwadar project,
Sui Gas, Sandak project or Katchi canal, Mr. Balach said.
He further said that we believe that we can confront adversaries
with unity as we have common interests and common land to defend from
enemies and alien powers. Our adversaries are powerful and they attack us
as Baloch, so we should defend our selves as Baloch.
There
are scores of Punjabi agents and collaborators in Marri area and
Balochistan working actively for the interests of enemy. They are being
blessed and given jobs and privileges. He pointed out that if we look at
the struggle by Marri in defending oil and gas resources, no other Baloch
supported us politically and openly, while our struggle was not for Marri
interests only but it aimed at the interests of the Baloch Nation.
He asserted that it is as clear as broad daylight
now that our struggle stood for the Baloch collective interests. He
mentioned strongly that if our adversaries had succeeded in the
exploitation of our resources, they would have been much more stronger and
deprived us even more. We have no personal grudge and clash of interest
with any body in Marri area. We are simply fighting the war for the Baloch
interests. He called upon the Baloch nationalists in Balochistan to
condemn and oppose the Government’s anti Baloch measures.
Nawabzada
Balach Marri further elaborated the stance of Nawab Akbar khan Bugti
published a few days ago in which Nawab Bugti urged the inhabitants of
Gwadar to stand up for their rights and if they needed our help we would
side with them. Whereas in an article Nawab Bugti’s statement was
considered a matter of affront. The statement gives a clear guideline of
future line of action.
He added that I take it necessary to clarify that
our area is a tribal area and we live in a tribal society. Every society
has its customs and traditions. The conditions in every area differ.
Government’s agents are found everywhere. It is also necessary to be
well acquainted with the location and other conditions of the area. He
continued that in during the military operations in 70s during Bhuttos
Regime a few Baloch came to help the Marri and they fought together. Mr.
Marri opined that it is not only difficult but also impossible for out
comers’ to endeavor in an area, where the local support and help is not
given. So Nawab Bugti’s statement may not be misconstrued as it lays
down future path of actions.
