Nawab Marri is seriously sick, says Marri

QUETTA: Mr. Chakar Marri, a spokesman of
the Marri Ittehad, Quetta, has claimed that Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, the
veteran Baluch nationalist leader, has fallen ill and he is not taking
food for the past 48 hours. In a statement issued to the Press, he said
Nawab Sahib is suffering from kidney infection since long and the
Government provided no treatment to the elderly leader.
He is also
facing problem in his teeth and some of the teeth are also infected
causing severe fever and weakness. As result of it, Nawab Sahib has
stopped taking food for the past two days. He deplored that Nawab Sahib is
sick for the past one year or more and the Government failed to provide
adequate medical facilities to him in the prison cell. He said that the
Government made no efforts to diagnose the disease to this date, nor any
specialist doctor or surgeon was sent to investigate or examine Nawab
Sahib. Mr. Chakar Marri criticised the Government for not taking any
interest in providing adequate treatment facility to Nawab Marri.
He claimed that Superintendent of Quetta Prison also adopted an hostile
attitude towards Nawab Marri and all those people trying to meet Nawab
Marri in Quetta Prison. He said that the discriminatory attitude of the
Provincial Government towards Nawab Marri was understandable. Mr. Chakar
said that Mian Nawaz Sharif, a convict was released and sent to Saudi
Arabia while the Baluch nationalist leader is denied treatment facilities
in his prison cell.
He said that the process of accountability,
removal from service of senior Baluch officers is confined to Balochistan
Province only while the corrupt in other provinces or ethnic background
are being protected and patronised.
