Two bombs rock Quetta city
Two bombs Sunday evening went off on Kawari road of the city but no loss of life or property reported.
As per detail, two consecutive explosions of bombs were heard within a short period of time but no causality was reported.
Quetta is under frequent bomb attacks for the last three months. 29.12.03

Two
bombs explode in Quetta
The provincial capital was rocked by two powerful
bomb explosions on Wednesday evening. No casualty has been reported in the
blats, a police official said.
An explosion occurred at Jogezai Street near a pharmaceuticals
manufacturing factory at around 7:50pm. The bomb had been planted in a
drain with a timer. Windowpanes of nearby buildings were smashed.
Another bomb planted behind a house in Modal Town
went off at around 8:05pm. "Locally made bombs were used with timers
in both the explosions," a bomb disposal department official said.
A case has been registered against unknown people. Two bomb explosions had
occurred in a market here on Dec 20, injuring four people, including the
provincial assistant advocate-general. 25.12.03

Four
hurt in two Bomb explosions in Quetta
Both the explosions occurred on Abdul Satar road with a brief interval.
Soon after the first explosion on Abdul Satar road, police and bomb
disposal squad rushed to the site. With an interval of 30 minutes another
explosion took place injuring four people who had come out of their homes
after the first blast.
Four men including the assistant advocate- general of Balochistan were
injured in two explosions that rocked the provincial capital on Saturday
night.
The injured - Assistant Advocate-General Malik Sultan Mehmood, Amanullah
Achakzai, Abdul Mateen and Salman Omar - were rushed to civil hospital,
where the doctors stated their condition to be stable.
BLA (Baloch liberation army) claimed responsibility for
these bombs blasts and vowed to continue until there is Punjabi
domination, injustice and exploitation in Balochistan. It is worth
mentioning that since last few years BLA has been carrying out such
attacks and maintained that it will not stop until Baloch get their
National equality and rights. And until they rids Balochistan from Punjabi
oligarchy its evil plans and its tyrant army. 20.12.03

Blast
claims boy's life
A 12-year-old boy sifting through
garbage near the Quetta residence of Afghan President Hamid Karzai was
killed in a bomb blast here on Friday, hospital sources said.
The boy sustained injuries on lower part of the boy's body, they said. The
police said the blast, which shattered windowpanes of the nearby
buildings, occurred at 3:30pm in a dustbin only 20 metres away from Mr
Karzai's residence at Ziarat Road in the Satellite Town's Block 4.
The boy, whose identity could not immediately be ascertained, was
described by the police as looking like an Afghan refugee of Uzbek origin.12.12.03

official injured in landmine blast
Bambhoor Rifles Commandant Lt-Col Moin
Qadir and a soldier were seriously injured in a landmine blast in Lunjo
Saghari area of Sui Tehsil on Saturday.
"The official vehicle of the Frontier Corps official hit a landmine
planted on the road at Lunjo Saghari near the Sindh border," a Sui
police official told.
"Lt-Col Qadir and a soldier, who was driving the jeep, were seriously
injured," he said and added that they were taken to the Combined
Military Hospital.
Sources said Lt-Col Qadir was going to Sui after spending Eid holidays.
Law-enforcement agencies have been carrying out an operation against the
local population in the area for the last four months. 29.11.03

Chaman
bound train rescue as bomb explode at railway track
A bomb blast near Samangli railway crossing in Quetta damaged the railway
track on Wednesday morning however the Chaman bound passenger train saved.
a bomb had been planted at the railway track near Samangi railway
crossing, which went off with big bang damaging a two-feet length peace of
the track.
The Chaman bound passenger train that had departed from the Quetta railway
station at 7:30 a.m. was saved by the driver using the emergency brakes,
as it reached on the blast place. The train had only four staff members on
board. The railway staff had started repair of the track while case was
registered against the unknown persons. 26.11.03

Freedom fighters attempt to
hit Uch Gas Field
In a bid to hit Uch Gas Field, Freedom fighters launched five rockets at the site, prompting FC to retaliate, however, no causalities occurred in the encounter that lasted for one and a half hour.

Two
blasts rock Quetta
The Quetta city was rocked on Thursday night when two
powerful explosions took place near the railway station. However, serious
damage was reported in either of the blasts.
The first explosion occurred near an overhead railway bridge built for the
pedestrian. The bomb was planted under the bridge.
The other bomb was planted in a drain near the wall of the railway police
station. The wall of the police station sustained damaged. No person was
injured in the blast. "Local made devices were used in both the
blasts," police sources said.
Meanwhile, one person was injured in a landmine blast near Sui. The mine
was planted on the roadside. 20.11.03

Taftan Bomb blast
A powerful bomb blast on Monday night rocked Taftan, a township on the border of Pakistan and Iran, and injured one person.
"A bomb exploded near the office of a sensitive law enforcement agency and damaged a wall of the office," said an officer of the Taftan administration while confirming the blast.
No arrest was reported so far in this connection. 18.11 03

Nine
hurt in three explosions in satellite town Quetta
At least seven policemen and two newsmen
were wounded, four of them seriously, as three bombs consecutively
exploded near Satellite Town police station on Monday night.
The bombs went off one after another injuring a deputy superintendent of
police, two sub-inspectors, an assistant sub-inspector and others. The
first bomb exploded in a garbage dump near a park around Satellite Town
police station.
Policemen and journalists rushed to the spot of the explosion, another
massive explosion took place a few yards away from the spot injuring nine
people, who received splinters of the explosive device. All injured
shifted to Quetta civil hospital, four sustained serious injuries.
Newsmen Mohammad Ijaz Khan and Haji Ajmal Khan, Crime Investigation
Department DSP Khalid Mahmood Gramkani, sub-inspectors Akram Zaidi and
Mohibullah Dawi, ASI Nasir Ali and Faris Mahmood, Tabarak Shah, Abdul
Hameed and two persons identity was kept undisclosed.
Later, another bomb went off near wall of same police station causing
damage to the wall but one was injured. Bomb disposal squad officials said
all the bombs were time devices.
A Baloch revolutionary political organization
BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army) who are fighting against the
Punjabi injustice and exploitation of the Baloch people in Pakistan claims
responsibility for these explosions.
BLA said that they would continue
this war until they get equality and justice for all the Baloch or until
they purge Balochistan of Punjabi tyrants and its junta. 10 Nov 03

Two policemen injured in grenade attack in
Quetta
Quetta: Two policemen were injured in a hand grenade attack at a police post on Saryab Road on Thursday evening.
According to reports, unidentified persons lobbed a hand grenade on the post of the Balochistan Reserve Police. Five persons were present when the grenade hurled on the post. Two of them sustained injured who were taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, two rockets were lobbed on Quetta cantonment on Thursday. Both the rockets exploded at open plot causing no injury or loss to property. It did cause panic among the people following heavy impact of the explosions. Baloch Liberation Army BLA clamed

Two
rockets explode in Quetta cantonment, eight in FC camp Kohlu
The cantonment area of the Quetta city was rocked
when two rockets exploded with brief intervals on Saturday 1st
November. A man injured by splinters of a rocket was admitted to the
Combined Military Hospital, a police officer said. Army personnel cordoned
off the area after the explosions.
According to police sources, the first rocket
was fired at around 8:20pm it exploded in the repairing area of the
premises of 601 Workshop,
official building in the Cantonment injuring a watchman, Shamoon.
Several vehicles parked in the workshop were damaged. The windowpanes of
the workshop offices and other buildings were smashed and its gate was
damaged, sources said.
At around 8:45pm another
rocket exploded near the Jinnah Market. No casualty or
damage was reported.
"The rockets were fired from the west of the city," the deputy
inspector-general of police, Quetta range, Mohammad Raiz, told.
Meanwhile Frontier Corps checkpoint in Kohlu Marri area was also attacked
a in the early hours of the day. The attackers fired eight rockets, which
landed near the post creating havoc in the FC camp but no person was
injured or killed according to official report.
Sources said the rockets were fired from the Jandran Mountains. The FC
personnel fired many rockets towards the Jandran range. However, the

Cop,
FC man killed in landmine blast near Kandhkot
A policeman and a Frontier
Corps (FC) man were killed and five others, including an SHO, were injured
in a landmine blast near the Sindh-Balochistan border in Jacobabad Taluka
Kandhkot, on Wednesday morning.
Area sources said that a
vehicle of the Bhittai Colony police station was on a routine patrol, when
it spotted something suspicious besides the road near the Baskit police
picket.
When the police officials
stopped the vehicle and tried to inspect the suspicious spot, a hidden
landmine went off, killing police driver Ghulam Muhammad Sarki and FC man
Fazlur Rehman on the spot, while SHO Lemoon Khan Lashari, Head Constable
Nawab Khan Khoso, Constable Muhammad Mithal, Constable Muhammad Khan, FC
personnel Noor Maraz Khan were injured.
The bodies and injured were
rushed to the Civil Hospital Jacobabad and later two of the injured were
shifted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Larkana in
precarious condition.
Jacobabad DPO Din Muhammad Baloch along with the bomb disposal squad
reached the area and started a probe. The whole area was sealed off.
According to reports these are the work of Baloch freedom fighters
fighting with police and Rangers
who are serving the interests of the Punjabi oligarchy in Balochistan, it
is worth mentioning that police and Rangers have burnet and demolished the
houses of all the innocent Baloch people living in Sindh-Balochistan
border area. These people have been deprived of their livelihood and their
land they are living a life of refugees in their own land. 30.10.03

Blast
in Quetta Brewery police station
A powerful bomb exploded outside the Brewery police
station here on Saturday night. The bomb, which went off at 7:52 pm with a
big bang and damaging the backside wall, created a hole in the wall of
Brewery police station. An official of the bomb disposal squad said the
explosive device was locally made. Further investigation is in progress.
It is second attack in a week time, as already three
blasts rocked the city. Law enforcement agencies and high official of
police reached the place. Police has registered case against the
unidentified and started investigation.
In a telephone call BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army)
claimed responsibility for these attack and vowed to continue till there

hit Kohlu town
According to sources Kohlu Township was rocked on Sunday morning two
rockets were fired from Jandran Mountains targeting a checkpoint of the
Frontier Corps. No casualty or damage to property was reported in the

FC men killed in rocket attack
Three persons including two
members of Frontier Corps were killed and two other injured seriously in a
rocket attack on a vehicle fired by unknown people believed to be Baloch
liberation army fighters in Margat area between Mach and Dhadar, some 90
km east of Quetta, on Friday.
Official sources confirmed that a civilian sitting near the vehicle was
also killed. The injured have been admitted to CMH, Quetta.
They said the FC men were on their duty near Indus Coal Company when two
rockets were fired on the vehicle from the nearby mountains. One rocket
hit the vehicle while other landed in the open place.
Those killed were identified as Subedar Abdul Hameed, Sepoy Hakim Khan and
a manager of the coal company Ghulam Hussain. 10 Oct 03

driver dies in rocket attack on train
A driver of
Pakistan Railway’s pilot engine for 358 Down Zarghoon Express was killed
and two others were wounded when Baloch freedom fighters attacked the
engine with rockets near Gudalar area of Mach in the wee hours of Friday.
Officials of the PR told The News that the engine was on its way from Mach
to Sibi railway station. They said rockets and bullets fired on the engine
in Gudalar area between Paneer and Piro Karli stations. The attack was
sudden and intense and the victims had no chance to escape.
Sources said
the attackers also opened indiscriminate fire on the engine targeting its
crew. Consequently, the driver Muhammad Azam sustained multiple bullet
wounds and died on the spot, while Fireman Muhammad Latif and Sepoy Abdul
Nabi were injured. The attackers escaped from the scene after the attack.
The PR
officials said the engine, which was badly damaged, overshot after the
rockets hit it. It crossed Mushkaf and Nari Bank railway stations and
stopped at Sibi Railway Station, where there was panic on the reports from
Nari Bank and Mushkaf Railway Stations that the engine was arriving
without a driver. The two injured men were shifted from the engine to
local hospital.
However, no
arrest was made. Body of the driver Muhammad Azam was dispatched to his
native village in Bostan. Agencies add: The train service was suspended on
the section and incoming trains were detained at Sibi station. Later these
trains started their journey four hours behind schedule. 3.10.03

attack on Panhor Sonhari in Jaffarabad
Jaffarabad
near Panhor Sonhari Baloch freedom fighters lobbed about fifteen rockets
on F.C check post on night of 9th September. Baloch Liberation
Army BLA claimed responsibility for the attacks on the FC check post on
Border strip of Balochistan and Sindh. Though Government admitted no loss
of life or property.
According
to local people the attack was very intense and authorities sustained

Three
rockets rock Quetta
The
provincial capital Quetta was rocked when three rockets exploded in
different areas of the city including headquarter of Frontier Corps, on
Friday night.
According
to sources three rockets exploded in the city with brief interval causing
no loss of life and property (official report). Inspector General police
Dr Shoaib Suddle told Balochistan express and confirmed that one
unexploded rocket was recovered from a graveyard from where these rockets
were fired.
The
first rocket landed on the roof of the MT workshop of the Frontier Corps
headquarters and exploded with big bang causing extensive damage. The
glasses of windows and doors of the nearby building were shattered. A wing
of MT workshop was damaged while vehicles parked sustained slight damage.
The
second rocket also fired from the same place but it was not known where
the rocket landed. Rocket fire blast was hard by the locals but it was not
clear where it landed IGP said, it is being kept a secret from public.
Third rocket fired from unknown place landed in Quetta Cantonment, it
blasted with an incredible loud bang.
After
the rocket fire police patrols rushed to the graveyard of killi Ibrahimzai,
from where the rockets were fired. After the rocket attacks the security
was beefed up in the provincial capital and FC headquarters cordon off by
the troops. Scores of innocent people have been arrested for
interrogation, a standard procedure in Pakistan.
According to a report of BBC News BLA (Baloch
Liberation army) has claimed the responsibility for these attacks. BLA had
also claimed the responsibility for three rockets fired earlier this month
on 13th, which landed and exploded in different parts of the
Quetta Cantonment. 6.9.03

Rockets fired at Kohlu
Some unidentified persons once again fired several rockets at Kohlu town. They fell at a deserted place without causing much damage and no loss of life reported.
According to details the attackers keeping their streak intact fired another volley of eight rockets targeting Kohlu town however they fell short of their targets at a deserted place without causing much damage and no loss of life reported.
Explosions and reverberations made the people frightened. Local administration was making efforts to apprehend the attackers behind this incident who fled towards rugged mountains surrounding the Kohlu town.

OGDC authorities have called off the survey
in Barkan
Survey teams abandoned the camp after several rockets were hurled on oil and gas Development Corporation near Barkhan one man died and three other injured. The camp was stationed to the east of Barkhan town. It is said that the rocket attacks on OGDC became a routine matter it has also been learnt that OGDC camp has been targeted many times so far.
The OGDC authorities have called off the survey teams for lack of security measures and concerned authorities have left Barkhan along with staff and machinery. It has also been learnt through reliable sources that the company had already decided to cancel survey operation even after the first attack but on the assurance by the provincial Government the company agreed to carry out operation. The company has now completely withdrawn all survey work and left the site with bag and baggage.

Some unknown Baloch freedom fighters fired four
rockets in Kohlu town from Jandran Hills, which landed near Killi Sardar
Faroze Khan Zarkoon and FC post. In retaliation the FC hurdle four shells
of 120 MM and two of 107 MM. However, no loss of life and property
occurred. Intense harassment and fear prevailed in the area. The local

Landmine explodes five rangers wounded
The Bambore Rifles were patrolling as usual on Monday in Sui. When they
reached Ali Bagh the vehicle hit a landmine planted in the road. The
vehicle was totally destroyed and five rangers wounded seriously. The
injured were taken to the Hospital in Sui where the condition of Nike
Abdul Rauf is very serous. The assured could not be established. The
administration is investigating the incident. It may be recalled that a
few days earlier, in a landmine explosion one FC ranger died and two
others injured.

According to

check post in Chamalang area. The rockets landed in a flood river near the
FC post and exploded with a loud bang. No loss of life and property has

FC vehicle destroyed by a landmine in Sui
A frontier corpse vehicle loaded with ice left Kishmore for Lottie. There were seven FC personnel on the board, when the vehicle reached near Sui it hit a landmine buried in the ground.
Naib Sobedar Mohammad died on the spot while six rangers wounded. Among them two rangers are in serious condition. The injured were taken to the hospital.

Baloch partisans attacked Frontier
Corps (FC) check posts RD-238 and RD-125 near Sui. The rockets landed near
the check posts and left deep craters in the ground. No loss of life is
reported. Due to the explosions panic and harassment prevailed in the

not apprehend the attackers who managed to escape.

rocket explode in Quetta
Panic gripped Quetta on
Wednesday night when a powerful bomb and a rocket exploded with interval
at two different places in the city. No loss of life or property was
reported.
Some Baloch freedom fighters
hurled an explosive device at around 9:20pm in the premises of Fauji
Foundation Model School near Shahbaz Town.
A rocket landed and exploded in
Killi Paind Khan in the outskirts of the city, little after the
hand-grenade explosion in the school. It was believed that the rocket was
fired from the west of the city.
Meanwhile, police have claimed
foiling another attempt and recovering a landmine planted by unknown men
in a 20-feet-deep ditch in Killi Khaizi.
Mean while it is believed that the people carrying out such
revolutionary acts are Baloch freedom fighters, who are left with no other
means of stopping the Punjabi exploitation of Balochistan and killing the
Baloch identity.
It is worth mentioning that these attacks were carried out on the eve
of 56th independence of Punjabi-Pakistan.

FC truck strikes a landmine 1killed 4 injured
FC truck while patrolling Sui area
carrying personal ran over a landmine. The vehicle was totally destroyed
and the Hawaldar died on the spot while 4 others sustained serious
injuries. The injured were taken to the hospital in Sui, the sources said.
It is believed that these attacks
are being carried out by the Baloch patriots in retaliation to the
exploitation of Baloch recourses like oil, gas and other natural recourses

The attackers fired 2 rockets, which fell near FC
(Frontier core) camp; no loss of life has been reported. In retaliation to
the attack FC personnel started indiscriminate firing in all directions
but could not apprehend the attackers, once again the attackers
escaped.
According to sources the attack was carried out
at 5 in the morning. The rockets were fired from nearby mountains, which

FC check post targeted under heavy fire
According to details frontier corpse check post come under heavy fire and rocket attack Lanjoo Saghari near Sindh Balochistan border Dera Murad Jamali native town of Prime minister Pakistan Zafarullah Jamali.
The armed men fired many shells on the check post and also opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapon. No loss of life occurred the attackers succeeded in escaping. The authorities registered FIR and further investigation is under way.

OGDC
worker dies, 12 hurt in rocket attack
An employee of the Oil and Gas Development
Corporation (OGDC) was killed and 12 others injured in a rocket attack by
unknown men near Barkhan, some 240 miles northeast of Quetta on Friday.
A senior police officer told that rockets were fired in the early hours of
morning from the northern side of the mountains with brief intervals.
"The OGDC employees were sleeping when rockets exploded in a
camp," sources said.
Soon after the attack stopped, officials of the local administration and
law enforcement agencies rushed to the site where the incident had taken
place and took all the injured men to Multan for treatment. However, one
of them who had received head injuries and was identified as Shah Bukhsh
died before reaching the hospital.
"Condition of three injured who were identified as Mumtaz Hussain,
Abdul Khaliq and Gulistan Shah is serious," Mushtaq Ahmed, an office
bearer of the OGDC employees union said.
Sources said that another rocket exploded near district jail Barkhan,
slightly damaging one of the jail's walls. Law enforcement agencies
deployed in the area retaliated and returned fire. After half-an-hour
exchange of fire the attackers escaped in the mountains.
A few years ago, the OGDC was allotted Barkhan area for conducting survey
in order to explore oil and gas resources. However, the corporation
stopped working due to various reasons, including lack of security.
Last month, after assurances given by the elders of the area, the
corporation resumed work in the region. With the new attacks on their camp
the OGDC employees have once again stopped working. 1 Aug 2003

rockets hit FC camp in Kohlu heavy loses reported
During the early hours of the morning several rockets were fired on the
FC camp in Kohlu from Jandran Mountains south of the city.
It is believed that at
least 10 landed in the compound of the camp, according to the local
population massive explosions were heard in the camp and heavy loss of
life and property apprehended.
When tried to get
details of the incident, the officials declined to comment the authorities

Killed 5 wounded in Landmine Blast
Two persons Ejaz Ahmed and Manzoor Ahmed died on the spot five others
sustained serous wounds in Chamalang area about 80 miles east of Loralai.
According to the reports a private pickup was coming to Dukki from
Chamalang. Dukki is around 45 miles from Chamalang.
When the pickup reached Lunda area, it struck a landmine buried in the
ground along the side of the road. As a result of the explosion the pickup
was completely destroyed and the debris of the vehicle spread around wide
area.
The authorities have

Seven rockets exploded in different areas of Kohlu on Thursday evening. Unknown persons fired the rockets from the mountains, which landed in open places with brief intervals and exploded. No loss was reported.

blast in Much city: losses reported
According to details received a bomb explosion took place on a street just beside a bank building. The explosion was very powerful it was heard from a very long distance it severely damaged the building of the bank but miraculously no one was in the building hence no body was heart.
The concerned authorities reached the site of the explosion and gathered the shrapnel’s for further investigation. FIR has also been lodged against the unknown perpetrator. This is the first incidence of its kind in much city so far. 25.6.03

7 rockets fired at Kohlu
Kohlu was rocked on Wednesday evening when seven rockets fired from the
nearby mountains exploded on the outskirts of the township, police said.
Sources said unknown people had fired these rockets from Jandran
Mountains. The rockets landed and exploded near a crasher plant, which
remained safe.
"No body was killed or wounded in the attack," a senior official

10:15pm. The house's boundary wall was partially damaged and windowpanes
of it and other buildings were smashed.
Another bomb exploded in Shahbaz Town 10 minuets later and damaged an
electric pole. Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf and senior officials
visited the sites after the blast.
The inspector-general of police said plastic bombs were used in the blast
and their aim was to create panic. He said the law enforcement agencies
had seized two unexploded rockets with automatic timer, fuse and detonator
in Brewery Road area in the morning.
The rockets had been aimed at the city from a mountain, he said. The bomb
disposal squad defused the rockets. On Tuesday, Unknown men had fired
three rockets at a post of the Frontier Corps near Kohsahar railway
station, some 80km east of here.
The Quetta-bound Jaffar Express and some other trains were delayed due to
the incident. "Rockets were fired at the FC post from the nearby

killed and 4 injured when unknown assailants open fire upon a vehicle near
Chamalang
30 kilometers from Chamalang at Thrikh
Koram unknown assailants opened fire with automatic weapons on a vehicle
carrying 14 laborers to Chamalang. 7 died on the spot and 4 were seriously
wounded where as 3 laborers escaped unharmed. To control the situation
heavy contingent of Frontier Corps was deployed in Quetta and other areas.
The assailants are said to be Marri.

Officer Duki said such incident’s can only be averted through mutual
understanding and cooperation with the local tribe otherwise the same will
keep on occurring. Local administration is conducting investigation. No

tanker blows to pieces in Chamalang driver killed
Land mine explosion for two consecutive days in Chamalang. In the
recent incidence driver of a water tanker was killed and the vehicle was
totally destroyed, the sources said that the explosion was so massive that
it was heard from the distance of several miles and it created a deep
crater in the road.
It is reminded that just recently in similar
incident 8 lives were lost and many injured. Law enforcement authorities
remain helpless.
It is asserted that these incidents are in
reaction to the exploitation and depravation of genuine rights of the
Baloch people. Baloch resources have been exploited for 55 years and the
people have always been ignored and kept backward.
Now the Baloch have realized that such
activities could no longer go on and the nationalist forces are left with
no other means to stop the exploitation of their national resources except
to take matters into their own hands and thus have resorted such means.
That is why this could be the doings of the Baloch

According to the sources
tractor-supplying water to Chamalang hit a landmine planted in the middle
of the road at Bala Dhaka near Chamalang in Duki area. One person was
killed and two seriously injured. The injured were rushed to civil
hospital Multan.

is the very area where two days ago 8 persons were killed and many injured

fired on road construction machinery in Barkhan
According to the sources three rockets were fired on bulldozer working on
a road in Barkhan district last night. The rockets landed near the road
construction machinery no loss of life and property has been reported. The
concerned authorities have registered the case against unknown persons and
no arrest has been made. How ever gross fear and harassment spread thought

Eight killed in Kohlu
landmine explosion
At
least eight mine workers were killed and four others, two of them
seriously, were injured when a passenger wagon they were traveling in hit
a landmine in the Chamalang area, some 400 kilometers northeast of here in
the Kohlu district on Tuesday.
The eight persons - four Afghan refugees and four Swatis - died on the
spot, Dr Jafar medical officer Loralai confirmed by telephone. The four
injured were taken to civil hospital Kohlu.
According to sources the 15 miners working in the Chamalang coal mines
were on their way to Loralai in a wagon when it was hit by a landmine
planted in the middle of the road.
The names of the victims are: Shoukat Khan, Khan Nawab, Iftekhar Ali,
Sarbaz Khan, Azizur Rehman, Painad Khan, Ghulab Khan and Mehrab Khan. Two
of the four injured were identified as Wahid Gul and Sher Mohammad.
A case has been registered and investigation was in progress. No arrest
was reported.
It is said that over few dozens such incidents occurred in the last three
years claiming almost 24 lives.

One
Colonel and 2 captains seriously injured in Chamalang
When Colonel Attiq Kayani, captain Nadeem and captain
Hamdani were going to Chamalang while their vehicle hit a landmine at
Tangai near Hosari. All were seriously injured; officers were shifted to
Quetta in a helicopter for treatment.
The higher authorities rushed to the site of occurrence
and put up barricade of the area. The authorities have launched a massive
search operation and arrested a large number of innocent people.
A wave of anger and resentment has swept throughout the
area against the operation carried out against innocent people, no person
involved in the incidence has been arrested but scores of innocent people
have been arrested and interrogated in this context.
It has also been learnt that some of the persons arrested
have been brought to Quetta for detailed investigation and handed over to

In a land mine explosion in Chamalang area near Kohlu a law enforcing
agency’s vehicle was destroyed and personnel when they were patrolling
in the area. According to the sources the land mine was laid near the side
of the road when the FC pickup ran over it and the land mine exploded.
The injured personnel were rushed to the local hospital; local
administration has registered the case against unknown assailants and

3 rockets explode in Kohlu
Three rockets exploded in different areas
of Kohlu on Thursday evening. Unknown persons fired the rockets from the
mountains, which landed in open places with brief intervals and exploded.
No loss was reported.
In an other incidence Some men also fired on a levies checkpoint no loss
was reported they fled when the personnel returned the fire. The levies
have registered cases against unknown persons. No arrest was reported.
The Sui administration defused three rockets in the gas field. According
to sources the rockets had been installed for targeting the pipeline. The
administration, on a tip-off, raided the area and seized the rockets,
