Fourteen injured in Quetta blast

Fourteen people were injured when a bomb went off at a cycle stand near the City police station on Wednesday. The device was planted on a cycle that exploded at about 6:40pm at a corner of a street on the main bazaar of Liaquat road outside Farhan hotel.

The explosion smashed windowpanes of the hotel and nearby shops. The injured were taken to the civil hospital.

They were identified as Adan, Khair Mohammad, Abdul Zahir, Mohammad Arshad, Tahir, Naseem, Asghar, Munir Ahmed, Naeem, Saleem, Sadiq, Bismiullah, Ruqiya and Umulkalsoon Bibi.

A doctor on duty said that six injured were admitted to the hospital and eight were discharged after first aid. He said the condition of one injured was serious.
Baloch traitor Bangan Bugti killed and five injured in a blast

Ex-guerilla commander turned pro-government was killed yesterday in a blast in Dera Bugti area of Balochistan.

According to the spokesman of BLA (Baloch Liberation Army) “The deserter and traitor Banglan Bugti was killed and five of his companions injured in a remote controlled roadside bomb blast.”

They were traveling from his house in Habib Rahai to the town of Dera Bugti about 250 km southeast of Quetta when their vehicle reached Gordan Nullah area, a powerful remote controlled device was detonated, the blast was so powerful that it ripped the vehicle into pieces killing Bangan Bugti on the spot while seriously injuring five of his guards.

It is worth reminding that Bangan Bugti was a former right-hand-man of the Baloch veteran leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, who was killed/missing since a military offensive in August. Bangan had defected to the government earlier in the year abandoning Nawab Bugti in his difficult times and collaborated with the Punjabi army.

In a separate incident earlier yesterday, Baloch freedom fighters blew up two power pylons in the same district, resulting in suspension of electricity in Dera Bugti and surrounding areas.

Bomb explosion rocks Mastung

Mastung was rocked on Friday by an explosion beneath a bridge on the RCD Highway connecting Quetta to Karachi, near the township.

According to sources, a timed explosive device had been planted under the bridge which went off with powerful bang, partially damaging the bridge but no casualty was reported in the blast.

Policeman wounded in roadside bomb in Hub

A traffic policeman was critically wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in Hub city of Balochistan Tuesday.

Baloch freedom fighters planted the improvised bomb near a police checkpoint in a hub industrial town, about 25 kilometers west of Karachi and 560 Kilometers southeast of Quetta the capital of Balochistan.

According to details, a traffic police officer, who was on duty, was critically injured in the bomb blast. The bomb was planted near a police station where there is usually several police personnel are present, but at the time of the explosion only police officer was on duty, who sustained severe injuries.

Balochistan, a vast, mineral-rich province, has been the scene of bombings and rocket attacks targeting gas fields, railroads and security forces in recent years.

BLA (Baloch Liberation Army) claimed responsibility for the attack. Baloch militants fighting for the independent state of Balochistan frequently carry out attacks on security forces and vital government installations. 12.12.06

Five bomb blasts in Quetta, six personnel killed near Kahan

Five consecutive very powerful bomb explosions heard in Quetta yesterday 10 am. BLA claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to sources, five very powerful bomb explosions heard in Quetta yesterday around 10 am. All the explosions happened within ten minutes, the explosions were so powerful that they could be heard on the other end of Quetta city.

Though the officials are denying of any attack on Quetta cantonment but the blasts were so loud and powerful that all the residents of the metropolis heard them. It is said that military headquarters and arsenal depot were targeted.

As Quetta cantonment is off limits to most of the civilians, so no verified details of damage and casualties are wet known but according to rumors several army personnel killed and injured in the attack. It is worth mentioning that intense panic and running around amongst the army and the police was observed.

In another incidence Baloch freedom fighters attacked an army patrol and killing all six near Kahan capital of Marri area. According to details six army personnel were out petrol in nearby hills of Kahan when they were attacked and killed by Baloch freedom fighters yesterday noon.

It is worth mentioning that the Punjabi army is sustaining heavy casualties and economical losses by Baloch freedom fighters on daily basis, but is the region is off limits to all journalists, hence it is easy to hide the losses it is sustaining.

Baloch freedom fighters are getting stronger every day and now the trend of targeting the army is moving towards the cities.

Police patrol attacked, Landmine blast kills man

A police patrolling party came under attack in the same area early on Sunday. The attackers escaped after a brief crossfire. No casualty was reported.

A man was killed and his mother suffered injuries in a landmine explosion near Punjabi Dob village in Jaffarabad on Sunday.

Police said that Maroof Bugti and his mother were on their way home when their cart hit a landmine. The man died and his mother suffered injuries. She was taken to a hospital. 10.12.06
Hand Grenade blast kills boy, bomb blast near magistrate’s residence

Unidentified people on Saturday threw a hand grenade inside a home in Balochistan, killing a young boy and wounding four others, including two women, police said.

The incident took place in Panjgur district, police said, adding that the 10-year-old boy killed in the blast had been identified as Sikander, son of Mohammad Shafi. They said that the boy had been inside his house when the grenade detonated, killing him on the spot and injuring two female relatives. The condition of one injured person was said to be critical. Local police Chief Mohammad Ali as saying that it was not immediately clear who was behind the attack.

In a separate incident, a powerful bomb blast shook a government rest house in Muslim Bagh district at around 3:00am on Saturday morning. Sources said that a judicial magistrate had been staying at the rest house when the blast occurred, but said that there were no reports of casualties. 10.12.06
Gas pipeline blown up in Mastung, bomb blasts in Quetta

Baloch freedom fighters blew up a main gas pipeline in Mastung area of Balochistan and bangs of explosions were heard in Quetta, capital of Balochistan, in the last two days during the visit of General Pervez Musharraf to the city.

According to details, a powerful explosive device planted near a main gas supply pipeline to Mastung city was blown up, suspending gas supply to Mastung and surrounding areas.

Mean while several bomb explosions and rocket fire continue for the second consecutive day during General Musharraf’s visit to Quetta.

Soldier hurt by landmine in Kahan, rocket attacks in Noshki and Mastung

A soldier was seriously injured in a landmine blast in Kahan area of the Kohlu district on Monday. He was identified as Abdul Waheed.

According to official sources, the soldier was going to his camp when the anti-personnel landmine blew up, injuring him seriously. “Waheed lost one leg and hand in the blast”, the sources said.

Meanwhile, Baloch Freedom Fighters fired rockets on some areas in Noshki and Mastung on Monday evening.

Several rockets fired on a FC frontier corps camp, three hit the camp and a few landed nearby in Noshki, no details of damage told.

Three rockets exploded in Mastung, some 50-km off Quetta. One rocket hit the wall of a house owned by Manzoor Mangi, while two others exploded at an open place.

The rocket attacks created panic amongst the authorities, as usual the attackers managed to escape unharmed but the local residents were harassed by the FC and police personnel.

Once again BLA claimed responsibility for the attacks and wowed to continue. It is worth mentioning that popularity of BLA is growing amongst the political parties and especially the Baloch youth. 5.12.06
Six injured in landmine and grenade blasts, in Sui, Khuzdar and Noshki

At least five people, two of them women, were injured in a landmine blast in a village of Sui tehsil along the Sindh border, while hand-grenade attacks were reported from Noshki and Khuzdar.

According to official sources, a pick-up going to Lanjo-Saghari village hit the landmine. Those injured were identified as Abdul Razaq, the driver, Tangi Khan, Lalo, Gul Khatoon and Dohi. They were taken to the PPL Hospital in Sui. "It was an anti-tank mine planted on a kutcha road," police sources said.

Meanwhile, a hand grenade was hurled into the home of a bank officer, Muzaffar Beg, in Khuzdar. A woman was injured and two rooms of the house were damaged.

Another hand grenade exploded in a tiles factory in Noshki. No casualty was reported. 4.12.06
One killed three injured in Noshki blast

A youth was killed and three other people were injured when a bomb exploded in Noshki, some 160km southwest of here, on Saturday.

Police sources said the powerful bomb had been planted on an electricity pylon 200 yards away from the fort of the Chagai Militia, a wing of the Frontier Corps, on the Mess Road.

Seventeen-year-old Mohammad Younus Baloch was killed in the blast. Walls of a house were destroyed in the blast and windowpanes of many other houses were smashed.

The injured - Hidayatall Baloch, Arif Masieh and Salahuddin — were taken to the Civil Hospital where the condition of Hidayatall is said to be serious.

Power supply to half of the town was disrupted because the pylon was destroyed in the blast. 3.12.06
Roadside bomb kills one, wounds another in Noshki

A roadside bomb exploded in a remote area of troubled Balochistan on Saturday, killing one person and wounding another, police said.

BLA claimed responsibility for the attack in Noshki, a town about 150 kilometers west of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.

Such attacks are common in Balochistan; most blamed on ethnic Baloch people who have waged an armed struggle for an independent Baloch state rich in resources such as oil, natural gas, gold and other. 2.12.06
Army personnel killed in Qaziabad bomb blast

A bomb exploded close to an army officers' mess in a restive Balochistan province on Saturday, killing one person and injuring a child.

The blast from the improvised device also damaged nearby buildings in the town of Qaziabad, a local police sources.

Qaziabad lies about 125 km southwest of the provincial capital Quetta and close to the border with Afghanistan.

Balochistan has witnessed a rise in insurgent activities amid operations by government forces against Baloch freedom fighters. 2.12.06
Four bombs explode on railway track in Balochistan

Four powerful bombs exploded on a railway track in southwestern Balochistan yesterday, causing damage to the line, railway officials said.

Baloch freedom fighters attached five bombs to the line between the border town of Taftan and Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.

One bomb was defused near Noshki, some 95 kilometers from Quetta, railways official Faiz Muhammad Bugti said, adding that the blasts damaged the 36-foot track.

No passenger and goods trains were scheduled to pass on the track today. Trains on the track travel up to the border town of Taftan. Two passenger and eight goods train run on the track in a month.

Three injured in Dera Bugti blast

A powerful landmine exploded in Dera Bugti late on Monday, seriously injuring three people, belonging to the Bugti tribe.

The landmine, according to official sources, was planted near the main gate of the house of Wadera Saeed Khan Masoori Bugti. It went off when a vehicle of his elder brother hit it.

The injured included Wadera Bashir Khan Bugti, Wadera Saeed Khan Bugti’s five-year-old son Alam Khan and his nephew.The injured were shifted to the civil hospital by police and other authorities concerned. They were later moved to the Sui hospital.

“It was an anti-tank mine planted close to the main gate of the house,” said police.

No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Meanwhile, a powerful explosion occurred near the house of a government employee in Mastung Township late on Monday. The explosion was caused by a time device planted near the gate of the house. 28.11.06
Cop Killed in Quetta, three injured and train line blown up in Mach

Unidentified persons gunned down a traffic police head constable on Saryab Road on Thursday. Two motorcyclists opened fire on Nazar Hayat, killing him instantly, and fled. His body was taken to Quetta Civil Hospital for an autopsy.

A woman and two girls were injured when a bomb exploded in Railway Colony in Mach, Balochistan, on Thursday.

Another explosion damaged a railway track in Harak near Mach, the railway officials said.17.11.06
Bomb blast kills at least one and twelve injured in Balochistan

A motor bicycle bomb exploded outside a police barracks in Quetta on Saturday, killing at least one person and wounding a dozen, security and hospital officials said.

Deputy administrator of the capital of the gas rich but violence-racked Balochistan province, Manzoor Kakar, said the bomb had been planted in a motor bicycle.

Doctors at the state run hospital where the wounded were taken said two of the casualties were in a critical condition.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but authorities have blamed previous similar attacks on rebels fighting for National Liberation of Balochistan.

Nationalist Baloch rebels have waged a insurgency for decades but in the past year have stepped up attacks on infrastructure, including gas pipelines, and security posts. 28.10.06

Five army men killed six injured, train, electric towers and two pipelines attacked

Several attacks reported from Dera Bugti, Bolan, Kohlu and Jaffarabad districts, in which five army personnel killed and two injured in two landmine explosions in Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts, while three pylons of power transmission lines were blown up, suspending supply to Dera Bugti, on Friday.

Baloch freedom fighters blew up two gas pipelines in Pir Koh and Sui gas field, shutting down the Pir Koh purification plant, while Baloch insurgents opened fire on the Rawalpindi-bound Quetta Express near Mushkaf in Bolan district, injuring two passengers.

According to official sources, three power pylons of the 132kv Sui-Dera Bugti transmission line were blown up in Pash Bogi area in the early hours of Friday. Power supply to Dera Bugti town and adjoining areas was suspended.

The sources said a powerful landmine exploded when a team of the Quetta Electric Supply Company reached the area with security personnel, killing a major and a Qesco line superintendent. Three army personnel were killed and 2 injured in Tartani area of Kohlu district when a landmine exploded.

The Pir Koh purification plant was closed on Thursday due to low gas pressure as the Baloch insurgents blew up a pipeline. A pipeline supplying gas to the Sui plant from a well was blown up, the sources said.

Two people were injured in old Sui township when a rocket exploded near the wall of the local Technical Training Centre.

On Thursday, insurgents opened fire on the Rawalpindi-bound Quetta Express between Mushkaf and Panir railway stations. Two persons were injured.

According to railways authorities, the insurgents fired two rockets before the train’s arrival.

Electric transmission tower blown up in Mastung

A 132 KV power transmission pylon hit by a blast here in the province of Balochistan was blown up and several adjacent towers were also damaged due to the blast.

Sources told some unidentified persons planted an improvised explosive device near a 132 KV pylon at a place Karidoor, which later exploded damaging the pylon and bringing it down, due to falling of the tower several adjacent towers were also damaged.

Qesco officials told that the repair work of the damaged pylon would soon be started. It may be recalled that Baloch insurgents had also blown up a gas pipeline carrying gas to Quetta at this very place ‘Karidoor’ yesterday night.

Bomb blasts in Quetta, Noshki and more

A Powerful blast was reported from the city’s Wahdat Colony area on Tuesday night.

According to locals, an explosive device had been planted in the backyard of a house in the Government Employees’ Colony. No casualty was reported. Another blast was reported from Nushki town on Tuesday evening in which a house was slightly damaged.

Several cities without gas after pipelines blast in Balochistan

Baloch freedom fighters blew up a key pipeline in southwestern Pakistan's volatile Balochistan province on Tuesday, leaving tens of thousands of people without gas.

The pre-dawn blast suspended natural gas supplies to the provincial capital Quetta, as well as the Kalat, Mastung, Ziarat and Pishin districts, a gas company official said on condition of anonymity.

Repair work had started on the ruptured section of pipeline at Dasht, near Quetta, and supplies will hopefully be restored in a few days.

The attack was the third of its kind since yesterday when two other pipelines were blown up elsewhere in Balochistan. The insurgents also attacked a passenger train with rockets on Thursday but caused no casualties.

Tensions have soared in gas-rich Balochistan since the Army killed a Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti in a major operation on August 26.

Attacks continue, gas pipeline blown up in Sui

In a powerful bomb explosion ripped apart a 14-inch diameter pipeline carried out by Baloch freedom fighters in Sui suspending gas supply to the plant.

According to the sources, 7 feet part of gas pipeline was completely destroyed, the damaged pipeline caught fire and blazes were seen from several kilometers which continued burning all night.

The local administration claimed it jammed the system of plant aiming to stop the leakage of gas and started the repair work on emergency basis, but according to locals, immense panic was seen amongst the local administration and the gas company when strong smell and fumes were seen in the gas plant when the gas company to jam the plant to stop supply to the affected pipeline.

Sources revealed that the industrial zones of Sindh and Punjab are affecting badly as there is continuing declination in the pressure of gas due to the low supply of gas after the blast.

Gas pipeline blown up in Hub, grenade attacks in Quetta and fighting else ware

Gas supply has been suspended to the industrial estate and other areas of the Hub city after the main pipeline was blown up on Sunday.

A 12 inch-diameter pipeline supplying gas to Hub industrial estate and some parts of the industrial town blew up at around 9:30pm near the Civic Centre, just a few yards from the Hub police station.

After the blast traffic was also suspended at the Quetta-Karachi highway due to gas leakage. “Dozens of industrial units have been affected as gas supply was completely suspended to the area,” the sources said.

According to sources, a powerful explosion was heard and the pipeline caught fire, the same pipeline had been blown up several times in the past. The gas supply could not be restored till late night.

Meanwhile, a hand grenade was thrown into the house of one Mohammad Asif in the Shafi Colony near the Balochistan University. The grenade exploded in the backyard. Doors and windows of the house were badly damaged.

However, no casualty was reported. According another report, an explosion device went off in the official residence of a jailer in Zhob on Sunday night. A wall was damaged, but nobody was hurt.

News of severe clashes between Baloch Freedom Fighters and Pakistani army emerging from Marri area, in attack on army convoys and check posts at least seven army solders are believed to be killed and more then a dozen injured. Mean while no casualty reported  from Baloch Freedom Fighters side.

Mr. Azad Baloch called the media from an unknown location via a satellite phone declared, that Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claims responsibility for the attack. 16.10.06

Three powerful explosions in Quetta, Noshki

Three powerful explosions took place in the provincial capital and Noshki, some 150 km of here, late on Thursday. A rocket fired from the west of Quetta landed and exploded on the White Road just behind the Governor House, shattering windows of governor house and nearby government building, causing panic in the government circles.

The explosion caused a three-foot deep crater on the road. However, no casualty was reported. It was a 107mm rocket fired, police said.

The second explosion occurred in Khrotabad, a locality in the outskirts of the provincial capital. A explosive device planted close to a water pumping station in Khrotabad exploded on Thursday night.

As a result walls of the pumping station and a nearby hotel were damaged. However, no casualty was reported.

Another report reaching here said that a powerful blast took place close to a tile factory and damaged its wall and main gate. The factory is owned by one Mohammad Manzoor. It was a time bomb sources told.

Pipeline blast in Quetta disrupts gas supply

A powerful bomb blast blows up gas supply pipeline in Quetta. Gas supply to many areas of the city was disrupted on Friday after a pipeline was blown up near the Gahi Khan chowk in the Shalkot area.

Police sources said a home-made explosive device had been planted with a timer under the pipeline supplying gas to western parts of the city.

The pipeline caught fire after the explosion. The fire was controlled after gas supply was stopped. Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the blast. 6.10.06
Bomb explosion damages police building in Khuzdar

A bomb shattered windows and damaged walls at a police radio control room in the third largest city in Balochistan on Monday.

Balochistan has been the scene bombings and rocket attacks targeting army and government installations, gas fields, gas pipelines and railroads for several years now.

The powerful bomb was hidden in a plastic shopping bag and planted outside the police building in Khuzdar, a town 300 kilometers southeast of Balochistan’s capital of Quetta.

Tension has been high in Balochistan since the August 26 Murder of a prominent Baloch Nationalist leader, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

Five security personnel hurt in Quetta blast

Two FC and three intelligence personnel on duty suffered injuries when a bomb exploded in Baldia Shopping Plaza in Quetta on Monday.

The bomb, planted in the ground floor of the shopping plaza in Meezan Chowk, went off at around 6.30pm. The FC and intelligence personnel were on duty in the area.

The injured were taken to hospital where one of them was said to be in serious condition.

“It was a device fitted with a timer,” an official of the bomb disposal squad said. All shops and business centers in the area were immediately closed. BLA claimed responsibility for the attack. 18.9.06
