Fair share from gas revenue demanded by Akhtar Mengal HUB: No exploration for petroleum and gas will be allowed in Khuzdar until and unless the royalty of Uch Power Project and Sui Gas field is given fairly to the residents of Balochistan. This was stated by the former Chief Minister of Balochistan and Central Leader of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Mengal, while talking to the newsmen at Sakran here on Monday. Responding to a question Mengal said that they have not reached to a consensus on the matter related to the exploration of mineral resources of Balochistan with the Federal Government and neither they are willing to discuss this issue with the present government. He called the governmental statements regarding the consensus on the mineral resources of Balochistan as their own self-rejoicement and said that the government killed two birds with one stone through murder of Justice Nawaz Marri by blocking the way of a Baloch to the post of Chief Justice of the Provincial High Court on one side, and by plundering the natural resources through the detention of tribal chiefs. “We shall however, make this government dream untrue”, he added. It is worth mentioning that an official delegation has called on the nationalist leader and chief of BNP, Sardar Attaullah Mengal, a few days ago in London to whom Mr. Mengal set some conditions regarding the exploration of gas and petroleum resources in Khuzdar. The main condition was reportedly the demand made by Sardar Ataullah Mengal to release Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, the senior most nationalist leader of the Baloch Movement.
